Matt Compton

I build AI agents and workflows that take over manual work. Then I measure them: how often they are wrong, what each task costs, and where a person still has to step in.

I am looking for an AI automation or implementation role, building agents and workflows that automate real work. I am open to remote jobs, or hybrid jobs in the Los Angeles area. I prefer full-time but am also open to contract work.

I started building software with AI in January 2025, while I was still working in film & TV production. It has been my main focus since October 2025. I built my first agents in March 2026.

AI software pipeline

A system that takes a written software issue from ticket to merged code. AI coding agents do the work and ask for my help only when they cannot solve a problem on their own.

From July 3 to October 2, 2026, it took 533 issues end to end across five of my own projects. About 17% of them parked at least once.

DSGA Tools

A Windows desktop app I built for the secretary of the Dixie Seniors Golf Association. It turns a handwritten yearly schedule into a typed schedule in Excel, then creates a financial projection based on that schedule.

I built it mainly to have a working set of evals. It runs the same job through several models and scores the results. As of October 7, 2026, it has compared seven models over 16 scored runs.

Let’s Geek Out event agents

Two AI agents that searched the web for fan events in Southern California, and a third that added each one to my events site as a draft listing. I approved or rejected every draft.

Of the 611 drafts I reviewed, I approved 442, or 72.3%. I shut the agents down on July 16, 2026, when I stopped updating the site.

How I work

Claude Code writes all the code in these projects. I do not read or write code, except for VBA.

My part is this:

Each case study says which design ideas were mine and which were Claude’s proposals that I approved.

My Claude Code skills

A skill is a set of written instructions for a job I repeat. I keep 11 of them, as of October 7, 2026. Claude writes the first draft of each one. I read it and cut it down, because Claude tends to write too much. Some examples:

Background

I spent 28 years in film & TV production, 23 of them as a Line Producer, Production Manager, or Production Supervisor. I was a Production Assistant on The Blair Witch Project, and I later worked as a Producer and Line Producer on promos and TV specials for Disney Channel.

You can find my full work history on LinkedIn and some of my film & TV credits on IMDb.
